The Research Library receives genealogical requests concerning passengers to America because these immigrants often landed in New York City. However, our research library does not have a strong collection of material to help with such requests since we concentrate more heavily on upstate New York than we do on the metropolitan New York City area.

What we do have on immigrants and passenger lists is limited to published books and some microfilmed indexes. We do not have original ships' records (many of which are at the National Archives in Washington, DC).
